Ho, ho, ho....

Since I've been in Africa, I've been repeatedly surprised by all the support we the troops receive from home.  In addition to the many, many wonderful, totally perfect care packages we get on a regular basis, complete strangers have been so kind and generous by donating books, toiletries, candy and a host of other things.  Trust me when I say it's humbling.  I am truly grateful.

Thanks, Den 5 Pack 42!
A group of Cub Scouts in Gainesville, VA, sent me a great, great Christmas gift.  It was a gigantic stocking full of candy and hygiene items.  Is that sweet or what?

Thank you, all of you, who take the time to make a soldier's life a little easier and remind us why we serve.

(I'm standing in front of my "containerized living unit" or CLU.  It's a shipping container with a sink, shower, and toilet...much better than the plywood "bee hut" I was living in when I first arrived.)
